About Me
At Pembrokeshire College I completed a First Diploma (1 year) and National Diploma in Art & Design (1 year) then I went on to Carmarthen College of Art & Design (CCTA) where I completed a Foundation in Art & Design (1 year) and a HND in Computer Graphics (2 years)
During my HND at CCTA I discovered my passion for computers; and of course design, as soon as I graduated I started at the bottom of the design ladder as an Art Worker and I gradually worked my way up the ladder as a Senior Graphic Designer with a little Photography Styling thrown in. A good eight years of experience!
But after those 8 years I found the world of Graphic Design was becoming a little ‘dry’ for me so I decided to go back into education for a change of career. It didn't take me long to find the ideal course which was the BSc(hons) Software Engineering degree in Southampton Solent University.
My first year had begun and I did ask myself 'What the hell am I doing here?' but I didn't give up no matter how difficult learning a new coding language was. With absolutely no experience with coding I was in at the deep end but that did not stall me as I just turned to the good old resource of a book; and many books there were.
Once the first year was over I applied for a part-time job within the University. A small department called the e-Development Centre employed me for my graphic design skills. The e-Development Centre's main responsibility is the Internal website for the Students and Staff called the Portal. After working for eDC for a few months I was given some little Java programmes to write where I could experience the language in real-life projects that were used within the Portal.
After completing my second year I took the opportunity to work for eDC on a placement year to boost my confidence even more with Java and various other languages and I also discovered many other passions of mine like photography and film editing which you can see by browsing through my website.
In 2008 I graduated with a Second which I was extremely thrilled with. Changing my career was a big desicion but I feel it has worked out to my advantage; I was able to discover new talents and discover talents that I didn't have!
I hope you enjoy looking at my website as much as I loved creating it.
